"Il y a 80 ans, un événement d’une ampleur jamais vue allait bouleverser le monde et orienter durablement le destin de la classe ouvrière internationale. Le prolétariat russe et l’énorme masse paysanne ont renversé le tsar de toutes les Russies et établi un système fondé sur les conseils ouvriers et paysans.
Il existe de nombreuses histoires de la Révolution russe. On trouve, en quantités moins importantes, des livres sur les anarchistes et la Révolution russe.
Dans le premier type d’ouvrage, les anarchistes n’apparaissent pas du tout, ou très marginalement. Dans le second type d’ouvrage, qui tente de rendre justice au mouvement libertaire, le travail de restitution du rôle des anarchistes tend à ne pas mettre leur activité en relation avec le déroulement général de la révolution et des problèmes qu’elle a posés. On sait que ce sont les vainqueurs qui écrivent l’histoire.
La mythologie fondée par les bolcheviks et leurs héritiers a eu pour fonction de masquer la réalité, l’extra-ordinaire vitalité et diversité des expériences que les acteurs de cette révolution ont tenté de mettre en place..." [éd. 4e de couv.]
